Scoreboard privacy policy
This policy explains what our Scoreboard apps collect and why. It applies to every scoreboard app published by Lidbit Ltd on the App Store and Google Play — each one keeps score and runs tournaments for a different sport, and they all share the same code and the same data practices. If you reached this page from one of our apps, this policy covers it.

The short version
There is no account and no sign-up. Everything you create in the app — matches, players, tournaments, scores and statistics — is stored only on your device and is never uploaded to us. We do not sell your data.
The apps do use three third-party services that collect limited data: Google AdMob for advertising, Firebase Analytics for anonymous usage measurement, and Firebase Crashlytics for crash reports.
What stays on your device
Everything you enter is held in a local database on your device and nothing more:
- Player names you type in, and their match history and statistics
- Matches, scores, points, frames, sets and timings
- Tournaments and their brackets and results
- Your settings and default match rules
We have no server for this data and no copy of it. Deleting the app deletes it. Because we never receive it, we cannot restore it for you if you lose your device or uninstall the app.
What is collected by third parties
Advertising — Google AdMob. The free version shows ads. AdMob may collect your device's advertising identifier, approximate (coarse) location, information about the ads you have seen, and technical diagnostics, and may use these to select ads and measure their performance.
On iOS, we ask for permission before any tracking takes place, through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you decline, the app still works and you still see ads, but they are not personalised. In the UK and EEA you are also shown a consent form before ads load, and your choice is respected.
Analytics — Firebase Analytics. Collects anonymous, aggregated usage information such as app opens, session length, screens viewed, device model and operating system version, tied to a randomly generated app instance identifier rather than to you. We use it only to understand which features are used and how the apps perform. The apps send no custom events, and we never attach your name, email or any player name to analytics.
Crash reporting — Firebase Crashlytics. When the app crashes, it sends a crash report containing the error, a stack trace, and device and operating system details, so we can find and fix the bug. Crash reports are not linked to your identity.
Purchases — Apple and Google. If you buy the optional Pro subscription, the transaction is handled entirely by the App Store or Google Play. We receive confirmation that a valid subscription exists so the app can unlock Pro features. We never see your payment card, billing address or any other payment detail.
Google acts as our service provider for AdMob, Analytics and Crashlytics. Their handling of this data is covered by Google's own privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
Why we collect it
- To show ads, which is what funds the free version
- To understand usage, so we can decide what to improve
- To fix crashes and bugs
- To unlock Pro features for subscribers
We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles ourselves.
Your choices
- Remove ads entirely by subscribing to Pro, after which no ads are requested
- iOS tracking: change your answer at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking
- Android: reset or delete your advertising ID in Settings → Privacy → Ads
- Delete everything by uninstalling the app, which removes the local database with it
Your rights
If you are in the UK or EEA, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data, and to object to it or request a copy of it. Since we hold no personal data about you on our own systems, most requests are best directed to Google for data held by their services. For anything else, email [email protected] and we will respond within one month.
Our lawful bases are consent, for advertising and analytics where the law requires it, and legitimate interests, for crash reporting and keeping the apps working.
Children
These apps are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us and we will address it.
Data retention
We hold no user data ourselves. Data held by Google on our behalf follows Google's retention policies: analytics data is retained for a limited period and crash reports are kept for around 90 days.
Changes
We may update this policy as the apps change. The date at the top shows the most recent revision, and material changes will be reflected in the apps' store listings.
